Job Qualifications
- 5 years of progressive facilities management experience in hotel or related field or 4-year college degree with at least 1 year of related management experience or 2-year college degree with 3 or more years of related management experience
- ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English
- effective and professional communication skills with departments, guests, and vendors
- diplomatic handling of difficult situations and people
- proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office programs
- facilities maintenance skills including knowledge of chemical handling, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and small appliance repair
- ability to solve practical problems with minimal standardization
- interpret written, oral, report, or schedule instructions
- valid driver’s license and vehicle
- ability to work independently
- capable of operating equipment such as pool/spa filter pumps, hand tools, power tools, leaf blowers, sweepers, and pressure washers
- ability to solve mathematical problems, use a tape measure, and understand liquid and weighted volumes
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills
Job Duties
- oversee hotel PIP renovations, preventative maintenance, capital planning, and capital project execution
- support all hotels to ensure timely repairs and maintenance of equipment and assets including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- develop and manage preventative maintenance tracking systems across properties
- implement and manage all aspects of capital projects including reporting and documentation
- support annual capital budget planning with SVP Facilities
- maintain hotel grounds and building conditions
- supervise outside contractors to ensure contractual obligations are met
- hold properties accountable for performing preventative maintenance
- assist with supply ordering and monitoring
- train and review key control policy with General Managers
- conduct property assessments in person and virtually
- communicate with General Managers about inspections and compliance
- assist in compiling annual capital budgets and securing bids
- oversee emergency procedures and response training
- perform special capital projects within set timelines
- supervise ACOMs, ADOEs, COMs, and technicians
- establish processes, procedures, PM schedules, and protocols
- be involved in hiring for facilities team positions
- coordinate property visits and emergencies with SVP Facilities
- develop and maintain standard operating procedures and policies
- promote energy management initiatives
- lead training and mentoring programs for maintenance teams
- conduct property audits and report findings
- assist in budgeting and planning
- provide task force coverage during engineering vacancies
