The open position is for a Regional Sales Manager who will be instrumental in driving the revenue and occupancy of a portfolio of extended stay hotels within the Midwest region. This role demands a strategic leader with proven expertise in hospitality sales, particularly in the extended stay segment. The Regional Sales Manager will have comprehensive responsibilities that include developing robust sales strategies, managing key corporate accounts, training and mentoring sales teams, and collaborating closely with marketing and operations departments to ensure seamless guest experiences and optimized revenue streams. The ideal candidate brings a strategic mindset capable of utilizing market insights to anticipate industry trends and adjust sales initiatives accordingly. They will be adept at forging lasting relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, relocation firms, and other channels that drive long-term business growth. This leadership role also requires strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build trust with clients, hotel owners, and internal teams. Frequent travel (up to 50%) within the region and occasional national trips are expected to nurture client relationships and promote the brand at industry events. Success in this position is measured not just by sales results but also by the ability to inspire and develop a high-performing sales team and effectively represent the company’s values and services in a competitive marketplace.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, hospitality management, or a related field
  • minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience in the hospitality industry, with a focus on extended stay accommodations
  • proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth in a multi-unit environment
  • strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate, inspire and motivate a team to deliver exceptional results
  • excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively build and maintain relationships with key clients and industry partners
  • strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop innovative sales strategies to stay ahead of the competition
  • proficiency in sales management software, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and Microsoft Office applications
  • willingness to travel 50% within the region and occasionally nationally for business meetings and industry events
  • ability to engage with key partners successfully and effectively like ownership groups, associates, clients, colleagues, and the brand representatives

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans to achieve revenue targets for the assigned portfolio of extended stay hotels
  • lead, mentor, and motivate the portfolio team to drive performance and ensure the achievement of individual and team goals
  • identify and cultivate relationships with corporate clients, travel agencies, relocation companies, and other potential sources of extended stay business
  • manage key accounts and negotiate corporate rates and contracts to drive long-term business partnerships
  • conduct regular market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats, and adjust sales strategies accordingly
  • collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and sales collateral to support the sales effort
  • monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, including revenue, occupancy, and average daily rate (ADR), and take corrective actions as necessary
  • represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to promote the extended stay hotels and build brand awareness
  • work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless guest experiences and address any customer satisfaction concerns promptly
  • prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, and presentations for senior management to communicate progress towards sales goals and identify areas for improvement
  • foster a positive, sales-focused team attitude and maintain clear, efficient communication among all team members for the best overall performance of the hotels
  • provide sales training and support to hotel sales leaders, GM, and DM teams to develop, coach and assist in the sales strategy, efforts, tools, and tactics
  • other duties as assigned
