Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 2 years of related safety program leadership experience
- ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC for the duration of employment
- experience in SDS review, interpretation, and protective measure implementation
- basic knowledge of railcar repair processes
- ability to interpret and apply codes, standards and specifications related to occupational health and safety
- must reside in the Houston TX area
- ability to travel within the assigned region up to 75%
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- bachelor of science degree preferred in environmental health and safety or engineering
- minimum of 2 years of related safety program leadership experience
- professional safety certifications strongly preferred
- ability to obtain and maintain a valid TWIC card
- experience in SDS review and interpretation
- basic knowledge of railcar repair processes and safety precautions
- ability to interpret and apply occupational health and safety codes and standards
- must reside in Houston TX area
Job Duties
- Coordinate with Operations leaders in the assigned region
- ensure safety and health program procedures and policies are effectively implemented at each facility
- provide specialized or requested training for front-line team members including new supervisor orientation, confined space entry training, and new team member training
- conduct incident, injury, and near-miss investigations including root cause analysis and corrective action development
- coordinate with Human Resources and Director of Workers Compensation to file workers compensation claims
- perform on-site audits and surveillance of safety program implementation
- conduct unannounced on-site audits and inspections to ensure ongoing compliance
