Job Requirements

  • A combination of education, experience, and training that provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Experience installing, repairing, and maintaining restaurant kitchen equipment including CVAP, Combi Ovens, Fryers, Hoods, Dish Machines, and Ansul systems
  • Hands-on experience with building system maintenance including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations and building codes
  • Ability to read design and architectural plans
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills
  • Self-starter with problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • High drive and sense of urgency
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity during difficult situations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Qualifications

  • Combination of education, experience, and training providing required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Restaurant Facilities Management Association Certification
  • Demonstrated strength in HVAC repair, restaurant kitchen equipment maintenance, vendor relations, and project management
  • Previous experience as a restaurant facilities manager preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
  • Ability to read design and architectural plans
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving and logical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage multiple projects with deadlines
  • Integrity, strong work ethic, and professional demeanor
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record

Job Duties

  • Ensure adequate maintenance and operations of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical and other mechanical systems to ensure comfortable environment for guests and employees within safety and operational guidelines
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for necessary repairs, upgrades, and installations to building systems
  • Develop and maintain preventative maintenance schedule for building systems to achieve target repair and maintenance budget while ensuring operating standards
  • Conduct monthly hood cleaning reviews to comply with local codes
  • Perform quarterly reviews with regional managers, general managers, and corporate development
  • Manage overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of restaurant facilities including front of house, back of house, storage, restrooms, landscaping, and parking lots
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and building codes
  • Provide hands-on project management for facilities remodels, upgrades, repairs, and ongoing maintenance
  • Respond to emergency repair requests to minimize downtime and negative impact on guest experience
  • Maintain facilities management system including timely and accurate invoice submissions
  • Manage warranty repairs to ensure coverage and minimize downtime
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving measures without compromising safety or quality
  • Collaborate with upper management to develop long-term strategies for facility improvement and capital investments
  • Conduct weekly walk-throughs with general manager, corporate development coordinator, and key staff
  • Hold monthly meetings with staff to discuss opportunities, capital projects, and preventative maintenance follow-ups
  • Hold monthly meetings with night cleaning staff to discuss cleaning opportunities and special projects
  • Perform other duties as required
