Job Requirements
- Maintains weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- Less than seventy years old
- Flown in category for commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- Regular scheduled attendance
- Compliance with drug and alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
- Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily without undue burden
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- Two to five years related experience and/or training
- Commercial pilot and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category preferred
- First or second-class FAA medical certificate
- At least 2000 total flight hours including 1500 in category
- Minimum 1000 hours PIC in category
- Minimum 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- Minimum 200 hours cross-country flight time with 50 hours at night
- Minimum 100 hours unaided night as PIC
- 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category
- Experience flying in category within previous 24 months
Job Duties
- Operates Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Completes pre-flight checks verifying aircraft airworthiness
- Holds final authority for flight operations and passenger safety
- Familiarizes medical flight team with aircraft systems and interior
- Completes required operational documentation
- Conducts detailed flight planning on short notice
- Participates in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
