Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
  • two years of airline or ground handling experience required
  • ability to operate a computer to enter and retrieve data
  • ability to lift up to 70lbs consistently
  • ability to pass all pre-screening clearances including fingerprinting, background check, and drug screen
  • availability to travel up to 75%
  • availability to work some nights and weekends
  • willingness to adapt to changing priorities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • two years of airline or ground handler experience
  • two years of airport behind-the-wheel operations experience preferred
  • strong working knowledge of SharePoint, Excel, and MS Office suite preferred
  • knowledge of Safety Management System preferred
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple projects independently
  • strong time management and self-management skills
  • flexibility to change priorities on short notice
  • ability to deliver high-quality results under competing priorities

Job Duties

  • Monitor UGE compliance in all areas including safety, security, OSHA, regulatory, and standard operating procedures as outlined in all safety manuals
  • undertake extensive and short notice travel and be available to work nights and weekends when needed
  • utilize available resources to self-learn and stay up to date with current policies, requirements, and procedures while applying critical thinking skills
  • complete UGE comprehensive internal audits in areas such as safety, OSHA/facilities, regulatory, security searches, aircraft cleaning, and cargo and assist with corrective action plans
  • create and present safety briefings, safety flashes, safety bulletins, training materials, safety calendars, and initiatives with minimal edits
  • organize and balance multiple concurrent initiatives while maintaining accuracy and timely delivery
  • host incident and accident review meetings and support general manager with necessary documentation and follow up
  • assist with conducting safety risk assessments for new or modified processes, equipment, policies, and hazards
  • provide timely and accurate guidance and feedback to help others strengthen knowledge and skills
  • assist stations with the development and upkeep of location safety and emergency response plans
  • participate in monthly safety roundtable discussions and collaborative meetings with business partners
  • contribute data for local monthly station safety meetings virtually or in person
  • conduct virtual safety visits reviewing topics like aircraft damages, injuries, GSE damages, safety preparedness, audit compliance, document review, and general manager checklist items
  • plan and participate in UGE safety promotion initiatives
  • identify and present opportunities for improvements to senior leadership
  • participate in weekly team and regional meetings providing guidance as a subject matter expert
  • deliver high-quality results individually or as a team member under time constraints
  • perform other duties as assigned by safety manager
