Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant industry experience
  • Ability to hold and maintain a TSA and CBP airport badge
  • Willingness and ability to travel 50% of the time across multiple jurisdictions and countries
  • Previous experience in contract negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and triage resources
  • Ability to manage change positively
  • Preferred ability to speak Spanish
  • Experience navigating different viewpoints to make strong business decisions
  • Post-secondary degree in business or aviation is an asset
  • Experience in change management, communication, or codeshare operations is an asset

Job Duties

  • Accountable for managing relationships with contracted ground handling companies
  • Work closely with ground handlers to ensure safety, reliability, and service standards
  • Engage with operations at check-in counters, gates, and ramps to ensure compliance
  • Ensure adequate resources are planned and assigned to execute operations
  • Monitor ground handler training and maintain training records
  • Ensure proper maintenance and reliability of ground service equipment
  • Support and participate in airport operations audits and implement corrective actions
  • Examine and implement operational efficiency initiatives
  • Attend airport meetings and protect Porter’s interests
  • Conduct regular operational metric and business reviews
  • Establish business cases for investment to sustain performance
  • Participate in station startup and network expansion projects
  • Support Porter’s commercial objectives and special assignments
  • Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System
  • Support and oversee other stations as needed
  • Travel 50% of the time for station inspections and visits
