The CDL-A Driver role is a vital position within Performance Foodservice’s distribution network, focusing on the timely, safe, and reliable delivery of food and foodservice products. This position features a component pay structure with an average annual salary between $90,000 to $100,000, and offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus with eligibility criteria. CDL-A drivers typically operate regional routes with one to three-day layovers, working four to five days a week with shifts starting between 11 PM and 3 AM. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A license
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Meet all applicable state licensing and certification requirements
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Have or be able to get a valid DOT health card
- Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move and stack freight weighing up to 90 pounds
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- 1 year commercial driving experience
- Valid CDL-A
- Must be 21+ years of age
- Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
- Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
- Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass road test
- Attains or has valid current DOT health card and/or able to secure new DOT health card
- Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight during shift
Job Duties
- Communicates and interacts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionally ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner
- Functions as a team member within the department and organization as required and perform any duty assigned to best serve the company
- Performs all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
- Reports all safety issues and/or repairs required
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
- Drives to and delivers customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
- Unloads products from the trailer, transports items into designated customer storage areas
