Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous cooking experience preferred
  • knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized recipes
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • physical stamina to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, standing for long periods, and manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools safely

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or in a related role
  • validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • ability to acquire food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
  • physical capability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • adapt duties and responsibilities to meet varying client requirements and operational needs at different locations
  • follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare a diverse array of dishes
  • ready the workstation with all required tools and ingredients
  • prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items
  • safely use various utensils including knives
  • handle appliances like ovens, cookers, cutting machinery, and mixers
  • use baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming cooking methods
  • structure, enhance, and portion cuisine based on established regulations
  • maintain food quality and safety through proper storage methods
  • maintain a sanitary and germ-free environment in work areas, devices, and utensils
  • deliver top-notch customer service with a cheerful and approachable demeanor
  • comply with safety protocols emphasizing food safety and sanitation
  • maintain safety measures for organizational resources
