Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience preferred
- knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation procedures
- ability to obtain food safety certification
- strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized recipes
- excellent communication and teamwork skills
- physical stamina to meet the demands of the role, including lifting, standing for long periods, and manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools safely
Job Qualifications
- experience as a cook or in a related role
- validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, various cooking methods, and food safety regulations including food handling, sanitation, and storage
- ability to acquire food safety certification
- basic math and counting skills
- interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal
- physical capability to perform lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing
Job Duties
- adapt duties and responsibilities to meet varying client requirements and operational needs at different locations
- follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare a diverse array of dishes
- ready the workstation with all required tools and ingredients
- prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items
- safely use various utensils including knives
- handle appliances like ovens, cookers, cutting machinery, and mixers
- use baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming cooking methods
- structure, enhance, and portion cuisine based on established regulations
- maintain food quality and safety through proper storage methods
- maintain a sanitary and germ-free environment in work areas, devices, and utensils
- deliver top-notch customer service with a cheerful and approachable demeanor
- comply with safety protocols emphasizing food safety and sanitation
- maintain safety measures for organizational resources
