Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in cooking or related role
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
  • Ability to pass food safety certification
  • Physical stamina for kitchen work
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and production instructions

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • Basic knowledge of food preparation principles and various cooking methods
  • Understanding of food safety regulations including accurate food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to obtain food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Adapt duties and responsibilities to meet client requirements and operational needs
  • Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare diverse dishes
  • Prepare workstation with necessary tools and ingredients
  • Measure, weigh, blend, cut, trim, and peel food items for preparation
  • Safely use utensils and appliances including knives, ovens, cookers, mixers
  • Employ cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • Structure, enhance, and portion dishes according to established guidelines
  • Maintain food quality and safety through proper storage and sanitation
  • Ensure a clean and germ-free work environment
  • Provide excellent customer service with a positive and approachable attitude
  • Comply with safety protocols emphasizing food safety and sanitation
  • Protect organizational resources through safety measures
