Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- 6 plus years of relevant work experience
- Proven track record in outside sales or business development
- Strong negotiation skills
- Demonstrated financial acumen including managing budgets and P&L
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel as required within Northern California market
- Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM systems
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Job Qualifications
- 6 plus years in direct outside sales, B2B or business development experience
- 6 plus years experience in market planning, foodservice, hospitality or beverage industry
- 5 plus years negotiating complex agreements
- Strong financial awareness including P&L responsibility
- Experience creating profitable customer bids and business plans
- Ability to articulate business results and impact of role
- Deep industry knowledge of key segments such as business and industry, college and university, healthcare, lodging, military, travel, restaurant, retail and grocery
Job Duties
- Align sales proposals/products to the operational needs of respective customers
- Meet or exceed customer sales performance goals within assigned territory
- Demonstrate transparency and accountability in business activities with excellent communication skills
- Develop and maintain deep relationships with decision makers and stakeholders within key operators
- Keep current on key developments in customer operations that affect business
- Translate strategic direction, category plans and brand activations into executable sales plans
- Work collaboratively with field sales, marketing, distribution, commercial development, and technical service teams
- Implement key product priorities, new product introductions and seasonal limited time offerings
- Lead negotiation and execution of contract approvals and initiatives
- Evaluate and administer operator trade spend and Exceedra contracts
- Advise distributors concerning sales and opportunities to ensure stocking
- Serve as a resource for key distributors headquartered within the market
- Manage sales pipeline effectively, identify sales gaps and develop action plans
- Collaborate with Brokers to maximize operator sales execution
