Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in LTL operations environment
- three or more years of field experience in safety as a primary responsibility
- strong communication skills both oral and written
- high motivation and ability to work with little supervision
- effective multitasking and prioritization
- professional safety certifications such as OSHA 10/30, NATMI - CSS, CDS, BCSP - STS, ASP, CSP, Smith System certification preferred
- prior CDL driver or trainer experience preferred
- ability to work in field operations with varying weather and shift coverage
- routine use of office equipment, cell phones, computers and regulatory websites

Job Duties
- Develop a safety culture rooted in the identification and elimination of exposure
- organize work to directly impact safety strategy and key initiatives
- ensure safety improvement plans and corrective actions to reduce injury and collisions
- train and develop field leadership through sessions, demonstrations, coaching, and job aids
- verify effectiveness of safety committees and address compliance gaps
- ensure compliance with Federal, State, and Local transportation laws
- participate in annual DOT compliance audits
- monitor company CSA scores and maintain below intervention levels
- review and investigate vehicle accidents and injuries
- ensure emergency response and notification protocols are followed
- assist with safety representation in legal matters
- participate in safety award recognition and positive behavior reinforcement
- maintain high integrity and communication with terminal operations teams
- travel to multiple site locations 50-75% of the time
