Job Description

CocuSocial, backed by Y Combinator, has established itself as one of the largest and most trusted marketplaces for culinary experiences in the United States. Operating in 26 major cities including New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, Seattle, Philadelphia, and San Diego, CocuSocial empowers individual chefs and businesses to connect with food enthusiasts by hosting a variety of immersive, live cooking classes and workshops. These offerings range from specialized cooking classes and baking sessions to wine tasting workshops and mixology experiences. At its core, CocuSocial is committed to educating, entertaining, and bringing people together through the universal language of food and drink, which aligns with its broader mission of fostering community and cultural exchange.

As a minority-founded and owned company, CocuSocial proudly champions diversity and inclusivity, reflecting these values not only within its internal team but across the platform and venues it partners with. Recognizing food as a powerful catalyst for building bridges among people of different cultures, ethnicities, religions, and orientations, CocuSocial blends passion with purpose. Its team of Chef Instructors, now spanning across 26 cities in the U.S., plays an essential role in delivering hands-on, interactive culinary experiences that inspire and delight participants.

The role of a CocuSocial Chef Instructor is tailored for passionate culinary professionals who possess strong teaching skills and a love for sharing their expertise. This is a part-time contract opportunity focused exclusively on live, in-person instruction at partner venues such as restaurants, hotels, breweries, and event spaces. The instructor has the unique chance to design and lead engaging classes featuring dishes they are passionate about, including popular international recipes like Handmade Pasta, Cheese Making, Choux Pastry, Ramen, Pad Thai, Spanish Paella, and Tapas.

Chef Instructors have the autonomy to manage their class preparation, including purchasing ingredients and setting up the teaching environment, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable learning experience for students. The role requires hands-on guidance through each step of the cooking process, fostering an interactive atmosphere where participants actively learn by doing. Additionally, instructors are responsible for cleaning up post-class, maintaining the high standards CocuSocial upholds.

This position offers flexible scheduling to accommodate the personal and professional lives of the Chef Instructors while providing competitive compensation, making it especially attractive for culinary experts looking to expand their reach and impact outside traditional kitchen roles. The supportive CocuSocial team collaborates closely with instructors to develop best-selling classes and continually enhance the program offerings.

CocuSocial's inclusive culture and innovative platform create an empowering environment for Chef Instructors to flourish, build their personal brands, and engage with food lovers nationwide. Those joining CocuSocial become part of a movement dedicated to making culinary arts accessible, educational, and fun, all while celebrating the diversity of food traditions around the world.
