The Recreation Staff position at Northgate Resorts plays a vital role in enhancing guest satisfaction by providing dynamic, entertaining, and interactive activities for all ages. This seasonal role can be either full-time or part-time and reports directly to the Recreation and Activities Supervisor. The staff is responsible for leading various activity programs including arts and crafts, games, and branded experiences designed to immerse guests in fun and educational opportunities. They help maintain a safe and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring recreational facilities and equipment are sanitized and operational while actively engaging guests to create memorable interactions.

Individuals in this position are expected to consistently provide high-energy, upbeat guest interactions that foster an inclusive and enjoyable environment. The role demands versatility, as Recreation Staff may also participate as Character Escorts, portraying beloved characters through specific gestures and non-verbal communication without speaking while ensuring costume maintenance and adherence to brand standards. Additionally, the role involves supporting event and activity setup, park decoration aligned with thematic events, and assisting with inventory management of event materials. Photography of events and participation in other special projects may also be required.

Job Duties

  • prepare and lead guest activities and arts and crafts
  • perform all branded experiences consistently according to Northgate procedure
  • provide and maintain a fun, engaging environment with all scheduled activities at all times and promote hands-on learning through daily activities
  • consistently interact with guests in an upbeat, fun, and energetic manner at all times
  • maintain a safe, clean and professional environment during the organization, coordination, and execution of branded experiences
  • be able to learn new skills including face painting, balloon making, or other event-related entertainment
  • complete cash, credit, and gift card transactions using the point of sale system accurately while following proper cash-handling procedures
