Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in park and recreation administration, health and physical education, or a related field
  • No experience required
  • Valid North Carolina or South Carolina driver's license and county driving privileges
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, Wilderness First Aid or First Responder, and American Canoe Association, Kayak and SUP level I or II certifications within one year of hire
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work mornings, evenings, and rotating weekends based on facility needs

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in park and recreation administration, health and physical education, or a related field
  • Experience in various areas of recreation programming (i.e., athletics, summer camp, fitness)
  • Proficient in various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to develop creative programs for diverse populations
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks concurrently

Job Duties

  • Develop, lead, and evaluate programs and activities in a recreation center or park facility
  • Provide customer service and handling of funds in a recreation center or park facility through telephone, emails, web site, social media and walk in patrons and customers for information, program registration, center daily use and rentals
  • Ensure safety of participants/spectators and administer first aid when necessary
  • Enforce rules and regulations
  • Collect fees and take registrations for recreational programs and facility rentals
  • Assist in light maintenance of facilities and recreational areas
  • Referee at various sports activities
