Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- or six years of experience as a Recreation Coordinator, Programs Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, or a related position
- ability to work various hours including evenings and weekends
- ability to talk, see, hear, write, read, and work in adverse environmental conditions
- ability to perform strenuous physical activities including running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
- ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships with citizens, public, employees, and volunteers
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field
- experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite products
- experience in program development, facility operations, and event coordination
- excellent leadership, organizational, training, and communication skills, both oral and written
- ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers
- ability to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required
Job Duties
- Creates marketing materials promoting all aspects of the Community Activity Center, including programs, memberships, rentals, and special events, through print and electronic media platforms
- supervises the Community Activity Center building during regular weekly shifts
- assists with supervision of Tot Drop, concessions, and front desk areas, including part-time staff
- develops and implements programs designed to increase sales and memberships
- oversees facility rentals and birthday parties, including inquiries, tours, bookings, staffing, and follow-up
- serves as the system administrator for the Parks and Recreation Services Department’s registration software
- leads and models high-quality customer service and assists with front desk operations
- assists in the budgeting process, including purchasing supplies and reconciling credit card purchases
- supports the implementation of other Parks and Recreation programs as needed
- keeps supervisor informed of work-related activities
- adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures
- assists other co-workers as needed
- performs other duties as assigned
