Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • or six years of experience as a Recreation Coordinator, Programs Coordinator, Special Events Coordinator, or a related position
  • ability to work various hours including evenings and weekends
  • ability to talk, see, hear, write, read, and work in adverse environmental conditions
  • ability to perform strenuous physical activities including running, kneeling, bending, twisting, dragging, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
  • ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships with citizens, public, employees, and volunteers

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Physical Education, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • experience with design software, including Adobe Creative Suite products
  • experience in program development, facility operations, and event coordination
  • excellent leadership, organizational, training, and communication skills, both oral and written
  • ability to maintain effective and positive working relationships with citizens, the general public, employees, and volunteers
  • ability to work various hours, including evenings and weekends as required

Job Duties

  • Creates marketing materials promoting all aspects of the Community Activity Center, including programs, memberships, rentals, and special events, through print and electronic media platforms
  • supervises the Community Activity Center building during regular weekly shifts
  • assists with supervision of Tot Drop, concessions, and front desk areas, including part-time staff
  • develops and implements programs designed to increase sales and memberships
  • oversees facility rentals and birthday parties, including inquiries, tours, bookings, staffing, and follow-up
  • serves as the system administrator for the Parks and Recreation Services Department’s registration software
  • leads and models high-quality customer service and assists with front desk operations
  • assists in the budgeting process, including purchasing supplies and reconciling credit card purchases
  • supports the implementation of other Parks and Recreation programs as needed
  • keeps supervisor informed of work-related activities
  • adheres to the personnel, safety, and departmental policies and procedures
  • assists other co-workers as needed
  • performs other duties as assigned
