RECREATION PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The Recreation Program Coordinator role is a non-exempt, classified position under the Stockton City Employees' Association Bargaining Unit. The position involves working closely with full-time, part-time staff, and volunteers to ensure the delivery of effective recreation services. Candidates should be prepared for a flexible work schedule, generally Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate program supervision and community needs.

Responsibilities extend beyond program coordination to include recruitment, training, and supervision of volunteers and support staff; development and review of recreational activities and programs to maintain relevance and interest; and close collaboration with community stakeholders to enhance program visibility and participation. The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in managing program logistics including inventory control of equipment and supplies, facility inspections, and possibly budget monitoring. Additionally, they will be tasked with enforcing safety procedures, managing participant conduct, and administering first aid as necessary to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
