Job Requirements
- Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Some experience in recreation or related field
- Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license depending on assignment
- Ability to obtain valid California Class B license with passenger endorsement within six months if required
- Mandatory drug testing if driving a mini-bus or van
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications for assigned aquatic programs
- Physical ability to perform several hours of physical activities
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in team sports or outdoor recreation
- CPR and First Aid certifications for aquatic programs
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Experience in program coordination and community engagement
- Valid California Class C driver's license or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work independently and supervise others
- Physical fitness to perform outdoor activities for extended periods
Job Duties
- Provide site supervision or act as an attendant monitoring and overseeing youth and adult sporting events
- Provide on-site supervision, instruction, and support for sailing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding activities
- Coordinate after school youth enrichment activities, including homework assistance and sports programs
- Teach hands-on education programs at historic sites and facilitate tours
- Provide event support including setup and breakdown for city-sponsored events
- Manage community garden maintenance and host volunteer workdays
- Assist customers with class registrations and provide customer service support
