Job Description

The City of Rancho Cucamonga is currently seeking dedicated and customer-focused individuals to join their Community Services Department as part-time Recreation Leaders. The department is well known for managing a diverse array of city facilities and recreational programs, including the Epicenter Sports Complex, RC Family Resource Center, RC Sports Center, Victoria Gardens Cultural Center, Goldy S. Lewis Community Center, and James L. Brulte Senior Center, as well as over 30 parks available for community use.

Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One year of experience in recreation or service programs preferred
  • Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Flexibility to work a part-time schedule up to 18 hours per week
  • Capacity to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and twist for extended periods
  • Valid California driver’s license and proof of insurability required
  • Successful completion of background and reference checks
  • Pass post-offer medical exam including TB screening
  • Eligibility to work in the United States with appropriate documentation

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One year of experience in recreation or service program implementation preferred
  • Knowledge of recreation activity procedures and program content
  • Ability to coordinate and implement events and services
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to supervise and train aides and volunteers
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Job Duties

  • Reviewing applications and reserving event spaces
  • Collecting payments and handling client communications
  • Greeting and assisting guests and patrons
  • Setting up and striking rentals, classes, and programs
  • Maintaining inventory and organizing supplies
  • Managing breakroom upkeep and cleanliness
  • Identifying and resolving operational issues related to building management
  • Acting as ticket taker and seat usher for performances
  • Monitoring private rentals and event setups
  • Providing excellent customer service and patron engagement
  • Assisting with box office operations including ticket sales and upselling
