This role is situated within the dynamic environment of Marriott Hotels, specifically under the luxury JW Marriott brand. As a Recreation Attendant, you will be a key resource managing and facilitating all recreational activities available on the property. This position involves providing guests with comprehensive information about the various recreational facilities offered, including pools, beaches, entertainment zones or game rooms, fitness centers, and child activity centers. Your interaction with guests will include encouraging participation in recreational activities by recruiting, registering, and scheduling attendees, all while promoting a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
The Recreation Attendant is responsible for enforcing rules and regulations associated with the recreational facilities to ensure the safety and welfare of all guests and members. A significant part of your role includes observing guest activities closely and responding swiftly and appropriately to emergencies according to established procedures. Additionally, you will provide cashier services at facilities where point of sale transactions occur and assist in hosting private group functions and events.
Your responsibilities will extend to assisting injured guests until emergency medical services arrive and maintaining cleanliness and upkeep of recreational areas, equipment, and supplies. Reporting any accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management is essential, as is completing all mandated safety training and certifications, such as CPR and First Aid. Upholding company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance, and safeguarding proprietary information and company assets are expected.
In your role, you will serve as the face of the recreational facilities, welcoming guests, addressing their service needs, and ensuring an inclusive environment by assisting guests with disabilities. Professional communication, teamwork, and a commitment to quality assurance standards are vital to excelling in this position. Physical fitness is required as you will be expected to stand, walk, and maneuver around the facility for extended periods, handle equipment, and perform tasks requiring physical agility.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- CPR certification
- First Aid certification
- Knowledge of recreation equipment
- Certification or training required by local and state agencies
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 25 pounds unaided and heavier with assistance
- Ability to perform physical activities including bending, twisting, pulling, and reaching
- Ability to work in confined or elevated spaces
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow company policies and safety guidelines
