Job Requirements

  • valid arizona driver license at time of hire
  • ability to obtain community infant, child, adult cpr, and first aid certification within six months if working in licensed programs
  • bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field
  • minimum three years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ability to pass criminal background screening
  • ability to pass drug screening
  • eligibility for e-verify
  • successful completion of fingerprinting
  • clear 39 month motor vehicle records check

Job Qualifications

  • bachelor's degree in recreation or related field
  • three years of related professional experience
  • ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously
  • strong leadership and organizational skills
  • excellent communication and customer service skills
  • knowledge of program budgeting and reporting
  • certification in CPR and First Aid within six months if required

Job Duties

  • develop and coordinate citywide classes, programs, and events
  • coordinate and implement recreation programs
  • maintain and evaluate program effectiveness
  • oversee facility operations
  • prepare and coordinate master scheduling
  • recruit and staff instructors, officials, part-time staff, and volunteers
  • perform administrative duties including budgeting, data compilation, report preparation, and bid solicitation
