The Park Monitor role at The Adventure Park at Nashville is a crucial frontline position responsible for safeguarding the well-being of all park guests while ensuring smooth operational execution. As the eyes and ears of the park, Park Monitors play a pivotal role in coaching guests through the park’s attractions such as aerial trails and axe throwing, supporting them to have safe and enjoyable experiences. This position involves various responsibilities, including conducting daily inspections of the courses, equipment, and grounds to guarantee compliance with stringent safety protocols. Park Monitors handle guest interactions with professionalism and warmth, addressing questions, concerns, and complaints promptly to maintain high-quality customer service and memorable guest experiences. They are expected to be skilled problem solvers who respond effectively to emergencies or unique challenges, escalating issues to supervisory teams as necessary.

Additionally, Park Monitors assist in multiple operational tasks, such as opening and closing procedures, reservation management, retail sales, and park maintenance. They also have a vital role in enforcing Outdoor Ventures Group policies, especially those related to safety, disciplinary measures, and medical emergencies, ensuring that all visitors conform to expected behaviors. Flexibility, teamwork, and proactive communication with management about park needs and operations are essential elements of this dynamic role. With a flexible hourly schedule ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week, the position offers an opportunity to work seasonally, part-time, or full-time, with a strong preference for candidates who can commit to the full operating season from March through December. Park Monitors at The Adventure Park are compensated at $16+ per hour, reflecting the importance of their role in providing a secure and exhilarating environment for guests while supporting the overall success of the park.

Job Requirements

  • Must be comfortable working at height in all seasonal weather conditions
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Flexible schedule with both weekday and weekend availability
  • Ability to commit to full operating season preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Climbing experience preferred but not required
  • Previous experience providing high-quality customer service preferred
  • Experience working with large groups in a professional setting preferred
  • Additional experience in adventure tourism preferred

Job Duties

  • Complete opening and closing park procedures, including check-in and retail facilities
  • completion and recording of daily inspections of courses, gear, and grounds
  • reservation management
  • Monitor climbers and axe throwers
  • coaching and providing feedback as necessary
  • training and leading guests through check-in, briefing, harnessing, aerial trails, axe throwing, and special events
  • Actively engage with guests to provide high-quality, memorable outdoor experiences
  • provide excellent customer service
  • Act as first level of response for customer complaints, course assists, and emergency situations
  • inform and involve supervisors and management as needed
  • complete necessary paperwork
  • Assist with park maintenance, groundskeeping, retail sales, and marketing as needed
  • Follow and enforce Outdoor Ventures Group's policies and procedures including medical and disciplinary situations, facility and equipment use, and emergencies
  • Communicate personal, staff, guest, course, and supply needs to management in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned
