The Arts and Crafts Center is a vibrant community facility dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression on base. Job Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age
- have experience with ceramic molding and painting, painting with other media, fabric crafts, calligraphy and/or lettering machines, engraving, glass crafts and mat cutting
- possess basic math and measurement skills
- be able to speak clearly and interact with the public
- be willing to work weekends and uncommon schedules
- able to stand, walk and stoop continuously
- able to handle materials that may cause splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns and bruises
- physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Job Qualifications
- Experience with ceramic molding and painting
- experience in fabric crafts
- knowledge of calligraphy and lettering machines
- skills in engraving and glass crafts
- ability to perform mat cutting
- ability to read, write, spell and figure basic math and measurements
- clear speaking voice and public interaction skills
Job Duties
- Facilitate arts and crafts classes for children and adults
- assist customers with art supplies and artisan products
- organize and support special events like "Paint and Sip" nights
- maintain a safe and clean crafting environment
- demonstrate techniques in ceramic molding, painting, fabric crafts, calligraphy, engraving, glass crafts, and mat cutting
- engage with the public in a friendly and clear manner
- handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
