The Arts and Crafts Center is a vibrant community facility dedicated to fostering creativity and artistic expression on base. Renowned for offering a broad spectrum of artistic opportunities, this center serves as a hub for both children and adults who wish to immerse themselves in various creative pursuits. Job Requirements

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have experience with ceramic molding and painting, painting with other media, fabric crafts, calligraphy and/or lettering machines, engraving, glass crafts and mat cutting
  • possess basic math and measurement skills
  • be able to speak clearly and interact with the public
  • be willing to work weekends and uncommon schedules
  • able to stand, walk and stoop continuously
  • able to handle materials that may cause splinters, adhesives, paint fumes, cuts, burns and bruises
  • physically able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with ceramic molding and painting
  • experience in fabric crafts
  • knowledge of calligraphy and lettering machines
  • skills in engraving and glass crafts
  • ability to perform mat cutting
  • ability to read, write, spell and figure basic math and measurements
  • clear speaking voice and public interaction skills

Job Duties

  • Facilitate arts and crafts classes for children and adults
  • assist customers with art supplies and artisan products
  • organize and support special events like "Paint and Sip" nights
  • maintain a safe and clean crafting environment
  • demonstrate techniques in ceramic molding, painting, fabric crafts, calligraphy, engraving, glass crafts, and mat cutting
  • engage with the public in a friendly and clear manner
  • handle physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
