The Recreation and Club Sports Coordinator position at the University of Hartford is an integral role responsible for organizing, managing, implementing, and directing intramural, club sport, and recreational programs. Major responsibilities include coordinating the daily operations of the intramurals office, managing student staff, assisting with scheduling and overseeing sports events, maintaining equipment and inventory, and ensuring that all events run safely and effectively with proper risk management protocols in place. Additionally, the coordinator supports marketing initiatives to promote participation and manages online registration platforms such as IMLeague.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- sports related degree preferred
- knowledge of federal and state laws and NCAA regulations
- experience in managing intramural and club sports programs
- ability to work minimum 40 hours per week
- capacity to lift or carry 26-50 lbs
- ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crawl and push or pull regularly
- effective interpersonal skills
- ability to travel including overnight stays
- commitment to risk management and safety protocols

Job Duties
- Coordinate the daily operations of the intramurals office
- assist in formulating and communicating policies, guidelines, evaluation processes, goals and objectives
- assist with hiring, training, scheduling and supervising student staff
- contribute to the development, execution, and assessment of intramural and recreational sports
- assist with planning, developing and scheduling leagues and tournaments
- maintain participation and equipment inventory records
- ensure equipment is cleaned, maintained and purchase supplies as needed
- assist club teams with scheduling and travel
- manage registration, payments and participation through IMLeague or similar platform
- provide high-quality customer service
- establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external constituents
- support marketing plans including print, electronic and social media
- update websites with schedules and statistics
- serve as onsite administrator for home games and special events
- act as risk manager for events related to safety and injuries
- follow risk management and emergency action plans
- perform other assigned duties
