The role of Recreation Coordinator at HGV is integral to the guest experience, focusing on the planning, coordination, and execution of recreational activities that cater to a wide variety of guests, including families and individuals of all ages. The Recreation Coordinator is responsible for driving company success by delivering high-quality recreational programs tailored to the interests and needs of guests and owners. This includes supervising pool activities, managing equipment rentals, and ensuring all recreational areas are maintained and welcoming.
In this role, the successful candidate will coordinate daily recreational programs, supervise and assess activities, and develop communication materials to boost participation and enthusiasm. They will also plan and lead a variety of activities such as special events, holiday celebrations, competitions, mixers, and group classes. The position requires a broad knowledge of recreation activities and the capacity to develop and implement effective programs. Providing exceptional guest service through answering inquiries, solving problems, and maintaining a positive atmosphere is a core component of the job. Additionally, the Recreation Coordinator supports other departments as needed and helps conduct program surveys and reports to continuously improve offerings.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous customer service experience preferred
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Eligibility to work in the U.S.
- Must not be represented by a labor organization or subject to a collective bargaining agreement
Job Qualifications
- Customer service experience
- Knowledge of a wide variety of recreation activities and programs including their development and implementation
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and teach recreational activities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Experience in hospitality or recreation preferred
Job Duties
- Coordinate recreational programs on a day-to-day basis for all age groups according to needs and interests of guests/owners, resort requirements
- Supervise and evaluate recreation program content and prepare communication material to attract participants, promote program interest, and evaluate program/activities effectiveness and participation levels
- Plan, coordinate, and teach specific classes, activities, and events, including special events, holiday programs, competitions, mixers, and other group activities
- Supervise pool activities, towel inventory control, and all other activity common areas
- Rent and sign out recreation equipment to guests
- Always provide outstanding guest/owner service including answering inquiries, providing information, and general problem solving
- Maintain recreation inventory
- Assist and provide support to other departments when requested
- Assist in conducting program surveys and preparing reports as needed
- Knowledge of a wide variety of recreation activities and programs including their development and implementation
