Job Requirements
- Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) or Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) credential or commitment to obtain within 18 months
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- valid Illinois driver’s license with daily access to a vehicle
- $100,000/$300,000 auto liability insurance
- willingness to work in diverse environments
- firsthand experience living with a mental health condition

- demonstrated commitment to serving underrepresented and vulnerable populations
- firsthand experience living with a mental health condition
- demonstrated sensitivity and compassion
- interpersonal and public relations skills
- understanding of local mental health resources
- ability to travel across greater Chicago
- basic computer skills
Job Duties
- Establishes physical presence inside SMHRF/SNF to support class members
- provides one-on-one engagement and recovery support pre and post transition
- conducts community meetings/forums and informational Q&A sessions
- provides skill building assistance and program education
- advocates and follows up with service providers on behalf of class members
- links class members to community resources in collaboration with Prime Agencies
- shares recovery story to assist class members
- implements NAMI Chicago support programming within SMHRF/SNF
- maintains official records and reports to program staff
- provides temporary social and emotional support, WRAP, coping skills training, and encouragement
- facilitates peer support groups
- leads peer-led trainings
- performs other duties as assigned
