- one year experience in a physician's office or hospital/medical environment
- basic computer and typing skills
- excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- reads, writes, speaks and comprehends the English language
- willing and able to become proficient navigating the hospital’s Electronic Medical Record

Job Duties
- Greet patients and visitors
- inform staff when patient arrives for scheduled appointment
- answer questions and provide information and directions to patients, visitors, and colleagues
- answer phone and manage caller needs, take and relay messages
- check and manage voicemails
- direct calls to appropriate resources
- inform staff of patient’s disposition or cancellation status
- seek out information as requested by staff to facilitate patient management
- order office supplies
- assemble new patient charts
- ensure front desk has necessary supplies
- attend staff meetings
- facilitate completion of sign-in sheet
- file staff meeting documents
- collect co-payments
- print daily outpatient schedule
- disposition outpatients in the Electronic Medical Record
- document patient intake and referral details on appropriate form
- schedule and reschedule outpatients as appropriate
