Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum six months of customer service work experience
  • bilingual Spanish/English or Rohingya, Burmese, or Arabic preferred
  • demonstrated verbal communication skills
  • organizational skills
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
  • reliable transportation
  • valid Wisconsin driver’s license
  • adequate vehicle insurance
  • ability to travel within Wisconsin

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by post-secondary education or related training in the social services field
  • minimum of six months of work experience in customer service or related industry
  • knowledge of corporate office protocol and customer service-oriented practices and procedures
  • bilingual Spanish/English or Rohingya, Burmese, or Arabic preferred
  • demonstrated ability to speak clearly, pleasantly, and courteously with good listening and comprehension skills
  • good organizational skills with ability to retain program facts and share them with visitors and applicants
  • proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to type at least 50 words per minute
  • reliable transportation with valid Wisconsin driver’s license and adequate vehicle insurance

Job Duties

  • Answer multi-line phone system and relay calls to the appropriate party
  • schedule appointments for program applicants and participants
  • provide direction to appropriate partner agency staff or other community resources in a professional manner
  • update and organize all program documents and outreach materials including intake files and confidential documents
  • translate documents as needed
  • assess client's immediate needs and direct applicants to appropriate services or programs
  • assist in preparation of staff meetings, outreach events, and other related meetings
  • open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence including faxes and email
  • receive visitors and program applicants in a customer-oriented manner and provide program information
  • maintain supplies and inventory by checking stock and submitting orders
  • assist in coordination of planned activities, workshops, conferences, and travel arrangements
  • provide technical assistance, training, and support to new staff as needed
  • attend meetings, conferences, workshops, and perform special projects and other related duties as assigned
