Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • At least one year previous experience or some hospital clerical experience or medical terminology preferred
  • Ability to operate office equipment necessary for job duties
  • Typing speed of forty-five words per minute
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and document transactions accurately
  • Willingness to work part-time, 20 to 29 hours per week

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • One year previous experience or some hospital clerical experience or medical terminology preferred
  • Skills necessary to operate office equipment required for job duties
  • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
  • Forty-five words per minute typing skills required
  • Good communication skills

Job Duties

  • Admit patients and process their paperwork
  • Update patient demographics and information in system
  • Collect monies due and document in the billing system
  • Handle funds per office procedure
  • Answer incoming phone calls
  • Interface with patients and families, physicians and staff
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of registration information
