Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • At least one year of customer service experience working in a medical or mental health office or equivalent
  • Ability to work evening shifts and every other weekend rotation
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Basic computer and administrative skills
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and maintain composure under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in related field
  • At least one year of customer service experience in a medical or mental health office or equivalent experience

Job Duties

  • Serve patients by greeting and helping them, maintaining log books
  • Welcome patients and visitors in person or on the telephone and answering or referring inquiries
  • Comfort patients by anticipating patients' anxieties, answering patients' questions, and maintaining the reception area
  • Ensure availability of treatment information by filing patient medical records
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information
  • Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, verifying receipt of supplies, and scheduling equipment service and repairs
  • Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies
  • Protect patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information
  • Maintain operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
