The role of Clinic Receptionist within the Sleep Medicine department is a crucial position that serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. This full-time, day-shift position operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, involving 40 hours per week. The Clinic Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk duties with professionalism and strong interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include greeting patients, managing patient flow effectively, scheduling appointments, handling phone inquiries, verifying insurance eligibility, and accurately entering patient information into the Electronic Health Record system. Additionally, the receptionist is tasked with collecting payments such as copays and past-due balances at the time of service.

This role requires not only administrative expertise but also a compassionate approach to patient care, ensuring that all processes comply with clinic policies and regulatory standards. The receptionist plays a critical part in maintaining efficient operations within the Sleep Medicine department, supporting both patients and healthcare providers. The position demands a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a shared leadership environment. Job Requirements

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment
  • certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider or obtain within three months of hire
  • proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three months of hire
  • ability to read, write, and understand the English language
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • maintain a high degree of confidentiality with patient information
  • possess a personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring
  • ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems
  • ability to manage multiple phone lines and scheduling software
  • experience in a healthcare or clinical setting preferred
  • knowledge of insurance verification and billing processes
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • basic understanding of medical terminology is a plus

Job Duties

  • perform patient check-in at the time of visit and complete all steps necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and in compliance with all clinic and regulatory policies
  • answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
  • schedule appointments according to office guidelines
  • obtain accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts
  • copy or scan patient access related hardcopy materials into electronic medical records
  • maintain patient flow and support front desk responsibilities
