Job Description
The hiring organization is a specialized healthcare facility focused on providing compassionate and effective treatment for individuals dealing with substance use issues. This establishment is dedicated to creating a supportive environment where clients and their families feel welcomed and respected from the moment they enter the facility. As part of their commitment to high-quality care, the facility prioritizes professionalism and confidentiality, ensuring each person's privacy and dignity are maintained throughout the intake and treatment process.
The role of the Receptionist in the Intake Department is crucial within this healthcare setting. Serving as the first point of contact for clients, families, and visitors, this position requires a warm and professional demeanor to create a positive initial impression. The Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk area, facilitating the smooth flow of the intake process, and supporting the administrative functions that enable efficient client admissions.
This role involves greeting and assisting visitors, answering incoming calls, and providing accurate information about the facility's services and intake procedures. In addition, the Receptionist handles scheduling appointments and intake assessments, collects and verifies client documentation, and inputs data into electronic health records. Maintaining an organized and confidential intake area is essential, along with complying with HIPAA regulations and facility policies to protect sensitive client information.
The Receptionist also plays a supportive role for the intake staff by assisting with clerical tasks such as photocopying, scanning, and filing. Coordination with counselors, case managers, and medical personnel ensures that client intake flows seamlessly and any concerns or unusual situations are promptly reported to supervisory staff. Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion is paramount.
Working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, the ideal candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills, be proficient in computer office suites and electronic health record systems, and be capable of multitasking efficiently. Prior experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment settings is highly preferred, as is knowledge of HIPAA confidentiality laws. Bilingual abilities, especially in English and Spanish, are a valuable addition.
This role offers the opportunity to be part of a team dedicated to delivering compassionate care and support to individuals seeking treatment for substance use. The Receptionist's contribution is vital to ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere that upholds the facility’s mission and enhances client experiences from the very first interaction.
