The role of Receptionist at Covenant Living is a pivotal position that serves as the first point of contact for residents, staff, and visitors. In addition, the Receptionist is entrusted with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, facilitating maintenance and transportation requests, managing mail and package distribution, and handling financial transactions such as cash register balancing and postage stamp sales. This position requires a calm demeanor in emergency situations, the ability to provide confidential information discreetly, and a genuine interest in working with older adults. - one year of secretarial training or clerical experience
- highly organized and detail oriented
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written in English

Job Duties
- Answer all telephone calls as quickly as possible in a polite, personal, and friendly manner
- transfer calls appropriately
- take messages when the individual requested is not available
- monitor emergency system and direct staff to emergent situations
- call emergency personnel as appropriate
- complete resident checks as applicable
- provide information to all visitors and direct them to appropriate individuals
- ensure all visitors and contractors sign in and wear badges according to policy
- maintain cleanliness and organization of reception desk and lobby
- facilitate transportation requests and coordinate timing
- place courtesy calls to residents about transportation trips
- assist residents in signing up for programs and activities and collect payments
- be knowledgeable about office equipment and demonstrate use to staff
- monitor equipment and report supply needs
- sell postage stamps
- receive, sort and log mail and packages
- facilitate and input maintenance requests
- complete monthly charge sheets
- support other departments with clerical duties
- assist Lead Receptionist
- balance cash register and drawer including cash receipts and checks
