Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous medical receptionist experience or general office work background preferred
  • knowledge of medical terminology
  • ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • good interpersonal skills
  • telephone etiquette essential
  • working knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office Suite
  • ability to operate copy machine and other office equipment

Job Duties

  • Acts as a liaison with patients and staff
  • registers patients upon arrival for appointments
  • verifies demographic and insurance information
  • calculates payments as necessary
  • collects and posts insurance co-payments and payments on accounts
  • assists in business office duties when needed
  • reports to physician regarding medical issues and manager regarding business matters
