The Receptionist role at Oceans Behavioral Hospital Permian Basin is crucial in ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations within our facility. The receptionist acts as a frontline representative, providing vital clerical and administrative support while upholding the facility’s mission and compliance with Joint Commission standards, Federal and State regulations. This position requires a committed individual who demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to manage stressful situations effectively. Key responsibilities include answering switchboards, telephone calls, assisting with various clerical tasks, and maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for patients, visitors, and staff alike. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- One year experience as a general receptionist
- Experience with computers
- Ability to read, write and follow instructions
- Ability to work well with diverse populations
- Knowledge of age, disability, and cultural specifics for communication
- Good physical and mental health
- Ability to work under close supervision
- Must successfully complete CPR certification and behavioral health de-escalation program
- Ability to handle pressure and cope with a high-paced, stressful environment
- Ability to spend 90 percent or more of time indoors
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- One year experience working as a general receptionist
- Experience with computers required
- Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions
- Experience working well with diverse populations
- Knowledge of age, disability, and cultural specifics to communicate effectively with specialized populations
- Good physical and mental health with empathetic attitude and respect toward clients
- Ability to work under close supervision
- CPR certification and completion of Oceans approved behavioral health de-escalation program preferred
Job Duties
- Answering switchboard and assisting in clerical tasks as needed
- Answer phones with appropriate etiquette and operate switchboard in a timely manner
