Job Description

The hiring establishment is a healthcare organization located at 1100 Gulf Freeway, Suite 114, League City, TX 77573, which may require some travel to nearby locations with the doctor as needed. This organization is committed to providing superior patient care, focusing on compassion, respect, and exemplary customer service in a medical office setting. The company adheres strictly to ethical principles, patient confidentiality, and compliance with all State and Federal regulations. They uphold core values such as patient care, teamwork, integrity, and accountability, which shape their interactions with patients, colleagues, and physicians. They maintain a clean and organized professional environment and provide staffing assistance during disaster or emergency situations.

The position of Receptionist is a critical front-line role within this organization. The Receptionist oversees various front desk tasks, providing both in-person and phone-based assistance to patients. This role involves checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, processing payments including copays, and ensuring accurate patient documentation and demographic updates. The ideal candidate will communicate effectively with patients, guests, colleagues, and physicians to provide clear instructions, directions, and timely responses to inquiries and phone messages. Additionally, the Receptionist must handle insurance verifications to determine if referrals or prior authorizations are necessary for upcoming appointments and ensure the accurate and prompt close-out of daily financial batches.

The role may require occasional travel to other HEA (presumably the healthcare establishment’s) offices nearby to provide front desk coverage when needed. The work environment is office-based, involving prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, stretching, and requires good manual dexterity for operating office equipment such as keyboards, photocopiers, telephones, and calculators. The position demands a calm and flexible individual able to handle potentially stressful situations and manage interactions with upset or angry individuals professionally.

No supervisory responsibilities are involved, making this role primarily focused on patient interaction and administrative tasks that support the smooth operation of the front desk. The organization emphasizes a team-oriented culture where all staff are viewed as essential parts of the team, working collaboratively for the benefit of patients. Their mission is grounded in honesty, respect, and accountability, ensuring a trustworthy and dependable environment for both patients and coworkers.

This is a full-time employment opportunity, with an emphasis on bilingual (Spanish-English) skills to effectively cater to a diverse patient population. The expected educational qualification is a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least one year of office experience and preferably two years of medical office experience. The role does not require any specific certifications or licenses but expects a high level of professionalism and adherence to healthcare policies. By joining this organization, candidates will be part of a dedicated team that values patient care, upholds the highest ethical standards, and fosters a supportive work environment focused on collaborative success and continuous patient satisfaction.
