Job Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • some work experience as a switchboard or console operator or as a receptionist
  • must have experience in clerical work or data entry
  • some knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred
  • working knowledge of the CISCO telephone system preferred
  • must pass fingerprint criminal background check
  • must pass pre-employment drug screen
  • must pass registry checks including Client Abuse/Neglect Reporting System and other required registries
  • must be at least 18 years old
  • males between ages 18 and 25 must be registered with Selective Service
  • must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • must have flexibility in work hours
  • must be able to work under moderate supervision and independently
  • all employees subject to random drug testing

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent
  • some experience as a switchboard or console operator or receptionist
  • prior experience in clerical work or data entry
  • preferred familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • preferred working knowledge of the CISCO telephone system
  • ability to communicate effectively with visitors, staff, and consumers
  • ability to prepare and maintain detailed records and reports

Job Duties

  • Place, answer, and transfer local and long-distance calls efficiently
  • greet visitors and respond to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner
  • provide relief coverage for other switchboard operators during illness, vacation, or emergencies
  • monitor the fire alarm system and report any issues promptly
  • maintain accurate records and files related to switchboard and visitor logs
  • operate office equipment including copying documents as needed
  • respond to emergency calls both on and off campus
