Job Description

Baptist Health Floyd is a prominent healthcare provider located just 10 minutes from downtown Louisville in New Albany, Indiana. Renowned for its commitment to clinical excellence, teamwork, and innovation, Baptist Health Floyd provides a comprehensive range of healthcare services to the community. The facility is part of the Baptist Health System, a respected network dedicated to delivering compassionate and quality care through its various specialties. The center prides itself on fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where employees are valued and patient care is paramount. The Cardiology Services department at Baptist Health Floyd is a vital part of the institution, focusing on providing exceptional care for individuals with heart and vascular conditions. Known for combining cutting-edge technology with expert clinical knowledge, the Heart and Vascular Center is a trusted destination for cardiac patients seeking diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of cardiovascular health.

The role of the Receptionist/Scheduler at the Heart and Vascular Center is critical in maintaining the smooth operation of the cardiology services. This is a full-time position requiring 36 hours per week, typically spread over five days with four 7-hour shifts from 7:30 am to 3 pm and one 8-hour shift from 7:30 am to 4 pm. The receptionist serves as the first point of contact for patients entering the Cardiology area, creating a welcoming and reassuring environment. This position involves multi-tasking skills as the individual must manage patient flow, facilitate appointments, and liaise between patients, their families, and the clinical teams efficiently. By understanding patient needs upon arrival, the Receptionist/Scheduler directs them through appropriate processes such as registration, consultation, or waiting procedures with professionalism and care.

The role also requires excellent communication abilities since the receptionist acts as a communication conduit between patients, family members, and cardiology clinical staff. This ensures timely and clear information exchange, helping patients feel supported and informed throughout their visit. Additionally, the Receptionist/Scheduler plays a significant role in the administrative task of scheduling appointments, managing the waiting area logistics, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate. The company values candidates who demonstrate a high level of customer service, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Baptist Health Floyd offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, emphasizing employee well-being and professional development. They encourage applicants who wish to be part of a growing family that supports clinical excellence and innovation. The facility is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds. This position requires candidates to be at least 16 years old. While a high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, the organization values dedication, interpersonal skills, and a willingness to contribute positively to the Cardiology Services team.
