The role of Receptionist is integral to the smooth operation of the facility. This full-time position requires a responsible and communicative individual who will handle important administrative tasks that facilitate effective communication between residents, visitors, staff, and management. The receptionist serves as the first point of contact via telephone and in person, managing incoming calls and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel. Beyond answering calls, the role includes important responsibilities such as mail distribution, assisting with accounts payable processes by submitting invoices for payment, and supporting the updating of employee phone lists. The receptionist also plays an active part in both resident and staff welfare by assisting in the mailing of monthly resident statements and participating in programs aimed at building census and improving patient care. Additionally, this position contributes to the recruitment and nurturing of staff, aiding in the facility's ongoing goal to retain and develop a skilled workforce. The role demands excellent organizational skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, and the ability to work collaboratively under the guidance of the Business Office Manager and the facility Administrator. Physical demands are moderate, with occasional lifting and carrying, as well as frequent standing, walking, and communication tasks. This position does not require any specific licenses but values communication skills and customer service orientation. Job Duties
- Answer telephone calls in a timely and pleasant manner
- Assist with mail distribution
- Assist with general office duties as assigned by the Business Office Manager and/or facility Administrator
- Responsible for accounts payable, collecting, processing and submitting invoices for payment in a timely manner
- Assist with updating employee phone list as needed
- Assist with mailing out monthly resident statements for room and board
- Actively assist and participate in the enhancement of the lives of our residents through our dedicated approach to patient care and our census building program
- Actively assist and participate in the development and retention of staff through recruitment, training and nurturing the employees of the nursing facility
- Assists in verification of EPLS and OIG for vendors (initial, monthly & annually)
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the Business Office Manager
