Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Ability to perform clerical duties accurately
Effective communication skills
Physical ability to stand and walk extensively
Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
Mental stability to adapt to stressful situations
Willingness to learn and cross-train

Job Qualifications

High school graduate or equivalent
Medical assistant certificate preferred
Ability to follow written and verbal directions
Good communication skills
Willingness to expand skills to include minor procedures and data entry
Experience in a healthcare setting preferred
Ability to handle multiple directives and prioritize tasks
Manual dexterity and coordination

Job Duties

Check patients in as stated in policy and procedure manual
Collect and post payment per front desk training manual
Update patient information as needed in Centricity
Alert nurses of patient arrivals
Ensure patient has a ride home with an adult
Prepare charts for procedures
Handle patient and visitor concerns courteously
Maintain pleasant environment by restocking supplies and maintaining equipment
Answer telephone and communicate messages
Assist with admission and discharge procedures
Make pre-procedure calls
Initiate medical record for all admissions
Update patient and insurance information if necessary
Assist in retrieval of patient information, equipment, and supplies
Ensure documents to referring physicians are sent out
Cross-train to perform other tasks in the endoscopy center
