Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a receptionist or customer service role
  • Ability to use the Genesys phone system
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Willingness to work Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and helpful when dealing with upset customers
  • Ability to foster teamwork and partnerships with cross-functional departments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
  • Experience in EMR systems such as E-Clinical Works, Epic, Athena Health, and NextGen preferred
  • Medical setting front desk experience preferred
  • Customer service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA preferred

Job Duties

  • Answer phone calls utilizing a Genesys system
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all requests by taking appropriate action such as scheduling appointments, taking messages, transferring calls to appropriate staff
  • Ensure thorough records are maintained by documenting discussions, messages and actions taken to process inquiries
  • Resolve patient issues through independent problem solving with a goal of first call resolution
  • Check in and out patients
  • Verify insurance and enter data
  • Perform basic administrative, clerical, operational, customer support, and computational tasks
