The role of the Receptionist at Extendicare is a vital part of the organization’s administration, acting as the first point of contact for visitors and callers. Reporting to on-site management, this part-time position requires a high level of professionalism and communication skill to represent Extendicare positively. The Receptionist is tasked with handling all incoming calls, responding to inquiries in a courteous and professional manner, greeting and directing all visitors, and managing mail and courier services. This role also includes administrative support activities like managing meeting room bookings, maintaining phone and distribution lists, and assisting with small projects as needed. The Receptionist maintains a clean, safe, and organized reception area, upholding Extendicare’s standards and values. Job Duties

  • Answer all incoming calls and respond to inquiries in a positive and professional manner
  • Redirect calls appropriately and take clear, concise messages when required
  • Greet, assist and direct all visitors
  • Pick up and sort internal mail
  • Stamp, deliver and maintain mail machine for external mail
  • Prepare packages and arrange courier pick up
  • Arrange meeting room schedule and bookings
  • Update phone and distribution lists
  • Maintain a clean, safe, fully stocked and well-organized reception area
  • Assist with small administrative projects such as labels and bulk mailing
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Uphold and promote Extendicare's values and philosophy relating to ethics, morality, and integrity
