Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • prior experience working with public in customer service or receptionist roles
  • ability to communicate in English effectively
  • ability to operate telephone and switchboard
  • ability to perform physical activities such as walking, standing, stooping
  • ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically
  • valid state driver’s license preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • prior experience in customer service or receptionist duties
  • ability to communicate effectively in English
  • basic clerical skills including typing and filing
  • ability to operate telephone systems
  • experience working in a nonprofit or social service environment preferred
  • valid state driver’s license preferred

Job Duties

  • Answer telephone and transfer calls appropriately
  • respond to caller questions and provide accurate information
  • communicate messages through telephone and email
  • receive and greet visitors professionally
  • provide assistance and referrals
  • screen sales representative solicitations
  • maintain accurate phone lists
  • monitor clients and patrons for compliance with rules and safety
  • perform routine clerical tasks such as typing and filing
  • assist with after-school children's activities
  • transport passengers using Salvation Army vehicles
