The Foundation serves as a vital link between ideas and action, and between resources and the organizations who work towards the prosperity and inclusivity of the region. With assets currently exceeding $300 million and having distributed over $34 million in grants in the past year alone, CFGC shows its commitment to fostering a thriving and equitable Chattanooga where every resident has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

The Receptionist and Administrative Assistant role at CFGC is a crucial position that embodies the Foundation’s values of service, community engagement, and operational excellence. This position acts as the frontline ambassador by providing a warm, welcoming environment to all visitors and callers, establishing the first positive impression of the Foundation. Reporting to the Executive Assistant and Facilities Manager, this role is responsible for managing various administrative and operational tasks that ensure the smooth daily functionality of the Foundation’s office. This role calls for a highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team atmosphere and is passionate about supporting the Foundation’s mission through attentive and professional administrative support.

Beyond greeting and assisting visitors, the role includes maintaining the welcoming atmosphere of the office through upkeep of the lobby, conference areas, and common spaces, together with routine facility maintenance tasks. Administrative responsibilities comprise managing correspondence, maintaining shared organizational documents and records, facilitating DocuSign processes, and supporting the logistics of Foundation events and meetings.

Moreover, this position requires efficient coordination related to meeting spaces, including scheduling, technology support, and communication with external organizations booking space at the Foundation. The role also supports vital Board and Committee functions, helping with meeting preparation, attendance tracking, and document management. The Receptionist and Administrative Assistant plays a key role in enhancing the Foundation’s community presence by contributing to event logistics, presentation material preparation, and various outreach and organizational projects.

This position offers a starting hourly pay of $21.64, reflecting the Foundation’s commitment to providing a living wage above the standard pay range for similar roles. CFGC also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid medical, dental, and life insurance, a 403b retirement plan, and generous leave time, supporting employees’ health and well-being.

The ideal candidate brings at least two years of experience in a customer-facing office administration role, combined with a high school diploma or equivalent. They possess strong communication skills, proficiency with common office technology, and the ability to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment. This role requires physical stamina to manage prolonged periods at a workstation and light lifting duties while maintaining an approachable and service-oriented presence.
