The Salvation Army Palm Beach Area Command Administrative Office in West Palm Beach, FL, is currently seeking a dedicated and professional Receptionist for a full-time position. This receptionist role is crucial as the initial point of contact for visitors and callers, providing courteous and efficient service. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. required
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language
- Ability to operate a telephone and/or switchboard
- Ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically
- Ability to perform routine mathematical computations

Job Duties
- Answer the telephone and transfer calls to the appropriate destination
- Respond to callers questions and provide accurate information
- Record accurate and complete messages and ensure timely and accurate distribution through telephone and/or email
- Receive, greet, and announce visitors in a courteous and tactful manner
- Provide assistance to callers and visitors by answering questions and providing instructions and referrals
- Screen sales representatives soliciting to The Salvation Army
- Receive, respond to, and assist people requesting social service assistance
- Assist in registering clients and phone numbers for social services
- Locate appropriate personnel to assist visitors
- Notify individuals when visitors or clients have arrived
- Ensure visitors and clients have signed in
- Add and delete names and extensions to the phone list daily
- Proofread telephone lists for mistakes before printing
