This clerical position is designed for individuals who thrive in fast-paced environments characterized by constant interruptions and a high volume of tasks. The role involves answering and directing telephone calls on a multi-line phone system, receiving visitors and determining the nature of their business, and directing them appropriately. Additionally, this position provides support through routine clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and assembling materials for district meetings and conferences. The ideal candidate will be able to handle inquiries from diverse groups, including district staff, students, parents, and the general public, while portraying a positive image of the district.
The position type is clerical, located at the District Office Southeast, with applications accepted until filled. The salary range is competitive, ranging from $23.43 to $28.39 per hour depending on experience and steps within the classification (C5). The role is full-time, with eight hours per day, five days a week (Monday through Friday). The district offers a comprehensive benefits package including holidays, sick leave, vacation benefits, prepaid family dental, medical and vision insurance, and a prepaid life insurance plan for the employee.
Applicants must be prepared to produce documentation such as a resume, a high school diploma or GED, a valid typing certificate demonstrating a minimum of 40 words per minute (generated within one year of job closure), and an approved clerical screening test score. The district provides the clerical screening test and encourages applicants to visit the Human Resources Testing Page to register if necessary. Upon employment, fingerprinting for background checks is mandatory as required by California State Law.
