Under the day-to-day general direction of the Office Manager, the Front Office Receptionist plays a crucial role in maintaining the smooth operation of our front office. This position is responsible for handling all incoming calls with professionalism and efficiency, greeting patients and their families warmly as they arrive, and managing crucial administrative tasks such as insurance verification, cash collections, and the proper handling of patient charts. This role requires a professional who can maintain composure and communicate effectively in sometimes challenging situations involving patients or family members. The Front Office Receptionist contributes significantly to the overall patient experience by ensuring that the reception area is welcoming, organized, and responsive to the needs of patients and staff. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of previous experience or some hospital or ASC clerical experience preferred
- competence in the use of basic office equipment including computer, printer, telephone, and fax
- demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- ability to remain poised and professional when interacting with potentially hostile patients and family members
- excellent clerical and organizational skills
