Jackson Hewitt is seeking motivated individuals for the role of Greeter/Receptionist. This seasonal position plays a vital role in shaping the client experience at Jackson Hewitt locations during peak periods of client traffic. As the first point of contact, the Greeter/Receptionist embodies the welcoming and professional atmosphere that the brand is known for. The role involves engaging potential and existing clients, sharing information regarding services, products, and promotions, and assisting clients with making tax preparation appointments. This person also supports various operational tasks including answering phones and distributing checks when appropriate, ensuring a seamless and positive environment for both clients and staff.

The position offers flexible scheduling options, including day and night shifts, weekdays, weekends, and the opportunity to work either full-time or part-time. This flexibility supports work-life balance and accommodates a variety of candidate availability. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, ensuring they effectively connect with clients and create a welcoming environment. Experience in customer service or sales is preferred, as these skills contribute to successful interaction and engagement with clients.

Additionally, candidates should meet basic eligibility requirements such as possessing a high school diploma or GED, or equivalent related business experience. Reliable transportation as well as a valid driver's license and insurance are preferred, aiding in consistent attendance. Importantly, this role requires a PTIN certification, in line with regulatory standards for tax preparers.

Job Duties

  • Greet all potential clients in a friendly and professional manner
  • engage in conversation with potential clients to share information about Jackson Hewitt’s services, products, and promotions
  • offer promotional items to potential clients by walking the store floor for vendor partners or marketing to other local businesses near storefronts
  • assist with scheduling tax preparation appointments
  • monitor client flow at the location and keep clients engaged during periods of wait time
  • monitor client activity and take initiative to answer phones or assist with check distribution by following established procedures when tax preparers are with other clients
