The available position is for a full-time Receptionist, a crucial role within Bethesda Senior Living Communities. This role functions as the first point of contact for residents, their families, and guests, requiring a warm, courteous, and professional demeanor. The receptionist is responsible for managing multi-line telephone systems efficiently, welcoming and assisting visitors, handling mail distribution and office supply inventory, and supporting various administrative tasks. The position operates on a weekday schedule with a flexible approach, although working on holidays is mandatory to meet the community's operational needs.
The role demands strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the capacity to maintain a positive customer service environment even in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful workplace. The receptionist also contributes to meal service coordination by communicating effectively with culinary staff to ensure residents’ needs are met, such as taking meal orders and assisting in maintaining the dining area's readiness. The role requires discretion and strict confidentiality concerning residents’ personal information, ensuring their rights and privacy are upheld at all times.

Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to maintain a positive, pleasant manner in a stressful, demanding environment
- Ability to maintain composure during frequent interruptions and in emergency situations
- Ability to read, write and verbalize understanding of written documentation, verbal instructions, and policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision by following community procedures and guidelines and using good judgment
- Willingness to work weekdays with a flexible schedule including required holidays
- Ability to lift 20 pounds frequently when receiving and maintaining office supplies for store room

Job Duties
- Manages a multi-line telephone system by answering calls in a timely manner, relaying messages accurately and in a courteous, customer friendly manner
- Provides a positive first impression of the community to all customers
- Distributes and sends mail and faxes
- Maintains inventory of office supplies
- Assists managers in special projects and mailings as requested
- Assists Executive Director and Business Office Manager as needed
- Maintains confidentiality of residents' personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents' rights
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the residents, families, vendors, and guests
- Maintains a positive customer service environment and practices honesty and integrity in all aspects of performance
- Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents' / guests' requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes
- Performs all other duties as assigned or required
