The Receptionist role at Foxchase Dental Group is a pivotal position tasked with shaping the first impression of patients as they enter the practice. The person in this role is responsible for welcoming patients and guests, managing the appointment scheduling process, answering phones, and maintaining patient account information efficiently. With a key emphasis on delivering a Perfect Patient Experience (PPE) and creating Patients for Life (PFL), the Receptionist ensures every patient feels cared for from the moment they connect with the office, whether by phone or in person. This role requires a warm and approachable disposition, keen organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of office practices, technology applications, and patient insurance processes. The Receptionist acts as a liaison between patients and the clinical team, ensuring smooth communication and supporting operational flow to optimize provider productivity.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior training or coursework in dentistry, insurance, or business preferred

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • prior coursework or on-the-job training in dentistry, insurance, or business preferred

Job Duties

  • support the PPE process by facilitating patient entry and comfort
  • schedule appointments to ensure smooth and productive provider days
  • interact and communicate with patients and guests during their wait times
  • answer telephones in a timely and efficient manner
  • complete all daily front office checklist tasks
  • post payments to patient accounts per company policies
  • act as subject matter expert in practice management system for patient registration and account accuracy
  • efficiently check in patients, obtain consents, and notify back-office staff promptly
  • confirm patient appointments in line with office policies
  • return and resolve patient messages from the Contact Center timely
  • participate in daily morning huddles and team meetings
  • understand business imperatives and their impact on metrics
  • demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand framework
  • support clinician patient education on the Mouth-Body Connection
  • maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory bodies
  • perform other assigned duties
